| In April 2002, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) introduced a peer evaluation of the Primary Dealers (PDs) of the Singapore Government Securities (SGS) market. The semi-annual survey is aimed at promoting and enhancing the efficiency, competitiveness and professionalism of the SGS market. It allows PDs to appraise their peers in the following areas of market professionalism: the speed at which prices are quoted, the readiness to make markets, and the ability to provide competitive pricing. PDs' professionalism in SGS outright and repo markets are separately assessed.
In the inaugural survey, the top three PDs that were acknowledged by their peers for outstanding performance in SGS outright and repo markets are listed in alphabetical order:
